Donald Trump is flailing. Last week, his administration hemorrhaged two more high level staffers. In the midst of this very public and tangible chaos, Trump tweeted: “No WH chaos!”

A new bombshell report from the Washington Post emerged last week as well, revealing that Trump personally dictated Trump Jr.’s misleading statement on the highly suspicious meeting he had last summer with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and other individuals with ties to Russian intelligence and government institutions.

As Trump’s own advisors anonymously told reporters, this is highly troubling for Trump’s long-term prospects. It directly implicates Trump in a potential cover-up, and gives Robert Mueller’s investigation yet more avenues for exploration as they look into whether or not Trump has committed any crimes.

Now, with multiple instances of potential obstruction of justice, it may not even matter if Trump or his allies colluded with foreign agents. These crimes could be enough to throw the administration into legal jeopardy.

On top of all of this, the leaks continue to flow. Somewhat comically, Jared Kushner’s speech to a group of interns was leaked after he explicitly asked them not to do so.

To sum things up, Trump is between a rock and a hard place. Even among the most pro-Trump polls, his approval ratings are plummeting.

An interview Trump gave to the Wall Street Journal last week provides a comprehensive portrait of a fish out of water, clueless and shaken – quite possibly afraid.

The 45 minute discussion with reporters and editorial staff from the paper features too many bizarre and outlandish comments to list in entirety, but a few will capture the conversation’s tone.

Trump claimed that the leader of the Boy Scouts called to tell him that his speech “was the greatest speech that was ever made to them.” Recall the highly inappropriate nature of the speech, which ultimately led the very leadership who Trump claims praised him to publicly apologize for the president’s appearance.

Additionally, the Boy Scouts released a statement saying they were “unaware” of any call from the organization’s leadership praising Trump. Ouch.

Discussing the Miss Universe pageant held in Russia, he erroneously stated that it was “nine years ago, eight years ago” and that he has “nothing to do with Russia.” The pageant was, in fact, only four years ago.

He revealed, as well, an astonishing ignorance of the international community: “And then you call places like Malaysia, Indonesia, and you say, you know, how many people do you have? And it’s pretty amazing how many people they have.”

Are you kidding me?
