On Sunday, a crowd of approximately 70 protesters gathered outside the offices of Breitbart located in Brentwood, California. Protesters decried the “fake news” outlet that has served as a propaganda outlet for Trump.
Steve Bannon – former CEO of Breitbart and current chief strategist for Trump – helped turn the alt-right website into a cesspool of antisemitic vitriol and general hate, exemplified by its former transphobic tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos (who recently fell from grace after audio emerged in which he appears to defend child abuse). The site has an extensive record of misleading the public, and is widely considered the mouth piece of the extreme right in the United States.
In an interesting turn of events, the website has begun a terse public feud with establishment conservatives. The website leaked audio in which House Speaker Paul Ryan apparently discusses his lack of support for Trump – the flailing reality star president whose primary agenda (health care and the Muslim ban) is in deep trouble, partly due to his administration’s incompetence and as well as the unconstitutional nature of his policies.
